Russian deputy foreign minister Sergei Ryabkov emphasised the difference between Syria and Libya, saying that Moscow will not consider the draft G8 communique that urges further UN sanctions against the Bashar al-Assad regime:

... the Syrian situation is dramatically different from the situation in Libya ... This is like an approach from a store of cheap clothes: one size fits all.
