Divya Gopalan is an international news anchor and correspondent for Al Jazeera English. She received an Emmy nomination for her live coverage of the Myanmar Monk Uprisings and reports extensively across Asia. Her coverage includes the landmark Indian rape protests and trials, the Japan Tsunami and earthquake aftermath, Kashmir elections, the Mumbai siege, Foot and mouth in Sorth Korea and school attacks China along with live anchoring coverage of the fall of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. Divya was part of the lead team setting up the Al Jazeera English Channel in Kuala Lumpur. She has worked in broadcast journalism for the BBC in London and at CNBC and CNN in Hong Kong.
