Attacks on security forces leave eight dead in Laghman and Kandahar

A suicide bomber has killed at least three policemen in southern Afghanistan.

Thursday's attack in Kandahar city left two people wounded, said Ahmad Jawed Faisal, a provincial governor spokesman.

In eastern Laghman province, five troops died after their convoy struck a landmine, said Sarhadi Zewak, spokesman for the provincial governor.

The two attacks in the south and east have left a total of five soldiers and three police dead.
