Afghan media is reporting that up to 20 schoolgirls were poisoned in the northern province of Takhar.

Tolo News reports that girls aged between seven and 18 at the Bashir Abad school in Taloqan, the provincial capital, were sent to local hospitals after falling ill on Saturday morning.

Saturday's poisoning would mark the sixth case in the past seven weeks.
