Last modified: 6 Jun 2012 13:22
The Supreme Constitutional Court has set June 14 as the date they'll consider an appeal referred by the presidential election committee regarding the political isolation law, which bans Mubarak-era officials from standing for office.
Some activists have called for the law to be applied on Ahmed Shafik, the former prime minister who will stand in the presidential runoff.
On the same day, they court will also look into an appeal from the Supreme Administrative Court on the unconstitutionality of the parliamentary elections that saw political party members vying for the one third of assembly seats reserved for individual candidates.
A decision on either motion could be made that day, or postponed to another.
