Another bit of political drama in Cairo next week: A judge has summoned Ahmed Shafiq to testify in the "camel battle" trial. That was the dramatic clash on February 2, 2011, when thousands of Mubarak supporters - some of them on camelback - attacked protesters in Tahrir Square.
Shafiq, who was prime minister at the time, has been accused of helping to plan the attack. His testimony could come as early as Monday.
He has since turned around and blamed the Muslim Brotherhood for the attack (a patently false allegation). Nonetheless it seems Mohamed el-Beltagy, a senior member of the Brotherhood, will also be called to testify.
