Prominent Egyptian intellectual Mohamed ElBaradei said a meeting with the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces on Saturday was fruitful and resulted in mutual understanding, Al Masry Al Youm reported late last night.

ElBaradei, who heads the new Constitution Party and has flirted with a role in politics since the 2011 uprising, requested the meeting with the SCAF. He is rumoured to be a possible choice for president-elect Mohamed Morsi's prime minister.

The two sides discussed the dissolution of parliament and the SCAF's unilateral constitutional declaration.
