Little sympathy among some Egyptians as Mubarak's health deteriorates
Reuters spoke to some Egyptians on Wednesday, who showed little sympathy to news that Hosni Mubarak has been moved from his prison to a Cairo military hospital after a health crisis.
"Mubarak is not our case, he wronged us for 30 years and the people are not overcome by emotion anymore. The people were wronged and have lost all emotion, he brought a cancer on the people, he wronged the Egyptian people and we will not forgive him; we will not forgive him," said one Egyptian, Salah Mahmoud.
Many Egyptians have been skeptical. Some protested when he was not sentenced to death for his part in the uprising that left many protesters killed last year. Many others Egyptian ssuspect fellow officers, who pushed him aside after 30 years to appease mounting protests, of conniving to give him a more comfortable confinement.
"Mubarak is no longer in our hearts, he has no value to us anymore, we need to focus on the present and the future, what's been done is done but may God fix his situation," said another Egyptian, Ali Mohamed Ali.
