Mubarak's health reportedly deteriorating

Last modified: 6 Jun 2012 19:14

Security officials at Tora Prison, where Hosni Mubarak has been moved following his life sentence, say Mubarak's health has entered a "dangerous" phase and that doctors have had to administer oxygen to him five times, the Associated Press reports. They said Mubarak was suffering from shock and high blood pressure and that they were considering transferring him to a military hospital.

Mubarak's health has been the subject of speculation and rumour ever since he resigned and fled to a presidential compound near the Sinai Peninsula resort of Sharm el-Sheikh. At various times, Mubarak was reported to have had a heart attack, suffered a stroke or entered a coma. None of the reports were apparently true.
