Auditors say Spanish banks need $78bn

Spain's banks would need up to $78bn in capital to withstand a worst-case economic scenario, according to those hired to audit the struggling financial institutions.

Some say Spain will officially request the money on Friday at a meeting of Europe's finance ministers.
