75,000 Israeli reservists likely a 'warning signal' to Hamas

Chris Bellamy, a military analyst and director of the Greenwich Maritime Institute at the University of Greenwich, speaks to Al Jazeera's Darren Jordon about the possibility of Israel deploying 75,000 reservists into the Gaza Strip.

Though he said the call on to the reservists was "potentially hugely significant", it remains highly unlikely that Israel will actually embark upon a ground offensive into the Gaza Strip.

The call on the reservists, which is a seven-fold increase from the 10,000 used last time Israel made an incursion into Gaza, is likely just a "warning signal" to Hamas that "Israelis are not happy" and are serious about a call to end rocket attacks, Bellamy said speaking from London.
