An activist in the city of Hama tells Al Jazeera that the "regime is not committeed to the ceasefire".
"In Hama, security forces are spread in all streets leading to the city centre, so demonstrations will not reach al-Assi square," he says, referring to the central square where protesters try to gather on Fridays.
"There's been some gunfire coming from security forces."
The activist believes armed opposition groups in the area haven't launched any attacks since the ceasefire officially took hold on April 12.
"We haven't heard any statements from them about attacks like we did in the past," he says, adding that he'd expect the groups to publicise any attacks, because successful attacks make them "feel proud".
