Al Jazeera has received reports that the death toll in Afghanistan's fourth straight day of protests against reported Quran burnings in the Bagram Air Base has risen to eight.

Six deaths have been reported in the western city of Herat while another two have died in the Pol-e-Khomri area of the northern province of Baghlan.

More than 30 people have been wounded across the country.
