With 25 reported deaths, including two US soldiers, since the on-set of protests over burnt Qurans at the US-led Bagram air base began on Tuesday, questions about the effectiveness of apologies from NATO officials and the US president have arisen.

As Friday's 11 deaths mark the bloodiest day in the four-day-long protests, Al Jazeera's Bernard Smith reports from Kabul on whether the apologies have managed to quell the anger of the Afghan people.
