Arsala Rahmani, a member of the High Peace Council and former Taliban-era minister, has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in Kabul, according to local media reports.

Sunday's assassination comes one month after Mohammad Hashim Munib, the Kunar provincial head of the HPC, was killed in a suicide attack following Friday prayers.
