Mahmoud Shamam, NTC information minister, spoke to Al Jazeera's James Bays in Tripoli:

I think we see that it [Sirte] is liberated. I think the celebrations in Sirte are going on right now..

People over there are saying they have caught a big fish on the ground...

Of the people we capture, we are going to put them on trial, we won't hang them in the street. We will give them a free trial that they never gave to the Libyan people.

I think every Libyan wants to see Gaddafi stand on trial.. we want to try him and take the justice to the hands of the court.
