France's foreign ministry said Friday it was strongly concerned by reports of an impending military operation by Syrian regime forces in the opposition stronghold city of Homs.

"We want to express our deep concern about reports of an imminent, large-scale operation against the city of Homs," foreign ministry spokesman Bernard Valero said in a statement. [AFP]
