Salim Kabbani, a Homs activist with the Local Co-ordination Committees (LCC) activist network, was arrested on Saturday in Damascus.

The group released the following statement:

The LCC holds responsible the official authorities and regime security apparatus for Kabbani’s safety.
It calls on human rights organisations and Arab and international civil society organisations to mobilise in order to pressure the regime to uncover the whereabouts and fate of Kabbani. It also calls on them to do whatever is needed to protect him and the rest of detainees from the credible threats facing their lives in detention.
