Reuters reports:

Syrian artillery appeared to pound a neighbourhood in Homs city, amateur videos that emerged on Wednesday showed.

In the city's Jurat al Shayah neighbourhood, thick smoke could be seen in a street that came under constant fire by the troops. Buildings on the street were badly damaged, the video showed.

Another video showed clouds of smoke hovering above the skyline of Jurat al Shayah.

In Deraa province, hundreds of people took to the streets to take part in the funeral procession of a man identified as Muhsen Basel Masalmeh, who is said to have been killed in the conflict.

The protesters chanted slogans against President Bashar al-Assad as they marched.
