Syria's intelligence chief Hisham Ikhtiar has died of wounds suffered in a bombing on Wednesday which killed three of President Bashar al-Assad's top security officials, Hezbollah's Al-Manar television reported on Friday.

The news was also confirmed by Syria's state television.
