Syrian activists say clashes under way in Aleppo, Deraa and Idlib

Here's the latest on violence this morning, from the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), an anti-government activist group:

- Aleppo: Government forces are reportedly attacking Salahedin, al-A'thamiya, Bustan al-Qasr, al-Masshad and al-Sukkari neighbourhoods with "heavy machinguns stationed on their helicopters". Explosions have been reported from al-Firdous and al-Marjeh neighbourhoods. Clashes have also taken place in several other neighbourhoods, and the SOHR says one civilian has died of wounds received in al-Zebdiya neighbourhood.

- Deraa: In Deraa province, the SOHR says the town of al-Hirak, Busr al-Harir and al-Kerek al-Sharqi have been bombarded by government forces early this morning. Four civilians were killed overnight, the group says. These include two women in Busr al-Harir, a man in the town of Seida and another person shot by government forces near the Syrian-Jordanian border.

Idlib -  The SOHR says that violent clashes have been taking place "for hours" between Syrian troops and rebel fighters in Idlib city. Clashes began after rebel attacks on several checkpoints, and parts of the city are now reportedly being bombarded.
