Syrian opposition gathers in Cairo

Syrian opposition members have began arriving in Cairo for a unity meeting after observers said their divisions had tarnished their credibility on the international scene, according to diplomatic sources.
Up to 200 delegates from a wide range of opposition groups including the Syrian National Council and the Muslim Brotherhood will be taking part in an Arab League-sponsored conference Monday aimed at uniting their position in future negotiations.
The five permanent members of the UN Security Council, as well as Arab League states Kuwait, Qatar and Iraq, have also been invited to take part in the talks, sources added.
