Turkey will search a German-owned ship over allegations it is carrying weapons to Syria, officials say.
The Atlantic Cruiser was halted in the Mediterranean last week after its owners received information - allegedly from Syrian government defectors - that it may be carrying weapons.
A Turkish foreign ministry official said on Wednesday the ship was towed to the port of Iskenderun and will be searched after it unloads some cargo for Turkey. Authorities postponed the search until Thursday morning due to bad weather conditions, the state-run Anadolu Agency said.
Customs officials seized some documents on the ship and also will question the ship's captain and his assistant, both Ukranians. [AP]
