Clint Eastwood beats Romney as RNC highlight

Last modified: 5 Sep 2012 18:27

Veteran gunslinger Clint Eastwood was the star of the Republican Convention, according to a poll conducted by Pew Research Center.

Some 20 per cent of those polled who had watched the RNC cited Eastwood's ad-libbed speech as the highlight of the event, compared with 17 per cent who felt Mitt Romney's nomination acceptance was the stand-out event of the convention.

Just 37 per cent of the 1,008 adults polled between August 31 and September 3 had even watched any of the convention coverage - down from 56 per cent in 2008.
